A few minutes' walk from the house, right outside the attic windows. A large playground (slides, swings, roundabouts), a duck pond, a bandstand and shady paths. In the morning you'll hear a chorus of birdsong here.

Hours / prices: Free entry, open all year, no public toilets on site — the nearest are in Hala Spacerowa.

Good for: families looking to relax, also a good plan for a rainy day

The largest water park in the Sudetes: a sports pool, three slides (including a turbo slide), a jacuzzi, a paddling pool for kids and a sauna zone. Restaurant and parking on site.

Hours / prices: Tickets available for 70 minutes or 3 hours (from April 2026 the standard entry time is longer), prices vary by time of day — check the current price list on their website before heading over.

One of the largest railway museums in Poland — steam engines, carriages, draisines, and sometimes the chance to ride a real locomotive. Everything here can be touched.

Hours / prices: Open daily 9:00–17:00, last entry at 16:00. Worth allowing about 2 hours.

A collection of 1:25 scale models of Lower Silesian castles and palaces — in one place you'll see a miniature Książ, Krzeszów and Bolków. While you're there, you can also pop into the uranium adit in Kowary.

An interactive science centre in the complex of the former Julia coal mine. Kids can experiment hands-on, while adults can take a guided tour of the underground tunnels and the viewing tower next door.

Hours / prices: SOWA open Mon–Fri 8:30–16:00, Sundays 10:00–17:00; on Saturdays open only to organised groups. Guided mine tours daily 10:00–18:00, on the hour, last entry 16:00.

Safe and spectacular runs on the toboggan track, with a park and café right nearby for a break. A good pick for a short, high-energy stop along the way.

Good for: kids of every age, whole families for a few hours

A historic stables in the Dworzysko complex (the same grounds as the Babinicz restaurant) offers horse-riding lessons for older kids and pony rides for the little ones (on selected days), and has recently added alpaca visits too. There's also a 9-hole mini golf course, an outdoor chessboard and a bike rental point. In summer a seasonal inflatable playground, Jump4Fun, runs on site — a hit with the youngest guests.

Hours / prices: It's best to book horse riding in advance (tel. 501 032 982). The Jump4Fun inflatable park runs seasonally in summer. Restaurant, café and parking on site.
