A historic, richly decorated wooden hall where spa guests have strolled regardless of the weather for generations. At the Pijalnia, for a token fee, you can sample four local waters: Mieszko, Dąbrówka, Marta and Młynarz.

Hours / prices: Open daily during the park's opening hours; it's worth checking the Pijalnia's exact hours on site, as they can vary seasonally.

Good for: families and groups of friends with half a day to spare

A modern cultural and science centre housed in the buildings of a former coal mine. Underground tours, old machinery, a viewing tower, and often concerts and exhibitions too.

Hours / prices: Guided tours daily 10:00–18:00, on the hour, last entry 16:00.

A historic townhouse with a collection of porcelain and ceramics from across the region. A pleasant café and garden inside — a good complement to a visit to Stara Kopalnia.

Good for: older kids and adults, fans of WWII mysteries

Wartime underground corridors and halls, guided tours only (about an hour). It's cool underground (around 10°C) — worth bringing a warmer layer.

A second section of the Riese system, with the option of a boat ride across an underground lake. Guides share the history and mysteries of the project.

Hours / prices: Open daily 9:00–17:00, last entry at 16:00. In summer it's best to arrive before midday.

Good for: lovers of architecture and intimate cultural events

A hidden gem of Szczawno — a Baroque theatre from 1890 with original balconies and excellent acoustics. Worth a look inside even without a show on.

Good for: families (interactive stations), lovers of craftsmanship

A small but interesting museum devoted to the history of textiles and craftsmanship in the region — old looms, patterns and weaving machines in action.

Hours / prices: Open Tue–Sun 10:00–17:00.

📍 Kamienna Góra

Good for: book lovers and the atmosphere of an old-fashioned bookshop

An intimate second-hand bookshop with books, maps and prints. The owners are happy to talk about their collection — a good place for a break between sightseeing stops.
